Answer your team's poll in Discord
Say I'm in, Late or Can't make it from your team's Discord channel, and cover for a teammate there as a substitute.
For team members · 6 steps
What you need first
- Your team's owner or an admin has connected your team's Discord server and left the poll on. See Connect your Discord server.
- Your Discord is linked to your Spawnfront account. See Sign in with Discord, or run
/link-profilein your team's server. - You are a member of the team on Spawnfront.
Steps
Step 1: Find the poll
Open your team's private channel in Discord. Before each practice, scrimmage and tournament round, the Spawnfront bot posts a poll there, at the time your admins chose.
You should see: the session's name and time, "Are you in?", the lists In, Late, Out and No answer, and three buttons.
Step 2: Press I'm in
If you're coming, press I'm in.
You should see: your name move to In. Your answer is your mark on the Spawnfront calendar, so the members' Calendar shows it too.
Step 3: Press Late
If you'll be late, press Late. In the box that opens, choose 15 min, 30 min or An hour or more, add a note in Note (optional) if you like (up to 140 characters), then submit.
You should see: your name under Late with how late you'll be. A late notice is posted in the channel, without a cover button.
Step 4: Press Can't make it
If you can't come, press Can't make it. Add a note in the box that opens if you like, then submit.
You should see: your name under Out, and an out notice in the channel that mentions your team's Substitute role.
Step 5: Change your answer
Press a different button to replace your answer. You can change it until the session starts. After that the buttons are grayed out and the poll reads Started.
You should see: your name under the new answer.
Step 6: Cover for a teammate
If you're one of the team's substitutes, an out notice mentions you. Press I'll cover to take the place. The first substitute to press it gets it.
You should see: the notice say you're covering, and a Release button that gives the place back if your plans change.
How to know it worked
- Your name shows under the answer you picked.
- Your team's Calendar on Spawnfront shows the same answer. See Say you'll be late or can't make it.
The reminder. If your admins turned it on, the bot posts a reminder two hours before the session. It mentions only the members who haven't answered, with the same three buttons.
From the web. The members' Calendar has the same answers, and a cover works from your notifications too. See Cover for a teammate.
Something doesn't look right?
It says 'Link your Discord to Spawnfront first, so what you do here counts for your team.'
Spawnfront doesn't know which account your Discord belongs to yet. Press Sign in with Discord in that reply, or run /link-profile in the server, then answer the poll again.
It says 'Only members of this team can answer here.'
Your Discord is linked, but your Spawnfront account isn't a member of this team. Ask one of the team's admins to add you.
It says 'That's a lot of answers in a row. Try again in a minute.'
You pressed the buttons many times in a short while. Wait a minute, then press the answer you want once.
The buttons are grayed out
The session has started, and the poll reads Started. Answers close when a session begins.
I'm not in the poll's lists
The lists name your team's linked players and substitutes, then anyone who has answered. Press an answer and your name appears under it.
