List your videos

Add YouTube and Twitch videos to your site's Videos page with a title, a date and an optional poster, then publish.

For team owners and admins · 7 steps

What you need first

  • Your team has a site subscription. A free team's admin shows Get a site instead of Videos.
  • You are the team's owner or an admin.
  • The videos are on YouTube (a video, a short or a live replay) or Twitch (a past broadcast or a clip). Uploading a video file is not supported.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Videos

In your team's admin menu, under your site, press Videos.

You should see: the Videos page, listing the videos you have added, newest first.

  2. Step 2: Press Add a video

    Press Add a video.

You should see: a form with the video's address, a title, a date and a poster.

  3. Step 3: Paste the video's address

Copy the address from your browser while the video is open on YouTube or Twitch, and paste it into Address. A live Twitch channel is not a video: open one of its past broadcasts or clips and copy that address. To show your live stream on your site, see Schedule a stream.

You should see: no warning under the field. If it says to use a YouTube video or a Twitch video or clip address, the link is from somewhere else or is a channel.

  4. Step 4: Give it a title and a date

Type the title your visitors see under the video, and choose the date to show beside it. A date in the future keeps the video off your site until that day.

  5. Step 5: Choose a poster

Optionally, press Choose image under Poster and pick an image from your media, then describe it in its alt text. Without a poster, your site shows the video's title on a card in your colors. Nothing loads from YouTube or Twitch until a visitor presses play.

  6. Step 6: Save

    Press Save.

You should see: the video in the list. It is in your draft; your site does not show it yet.

  7. Step 7: Publish your site

Publish your site from the Publish page, as with any other change.

You should see: a Videos page on your site. Pressing a video plays it in a window over the page.

How to know it worked

  • Your site's menu has Videos, and every video you added and did not hide is on it.
  • Pressing a video plays it without leaving your site.

Something doesn't look right?

My video isn't on my site

Saving keeps a video in your draft. Publish your site, and check the video is not hidden and its date has passed.

How do I take a video off my site?

Press Hide on its row to keep it in your list but off your site, or Delete to remove it. Either way, publish your site again.

My site has no Videos page

The page appears once at least one published video's date has passed. Until then it is left out of your menu.
