Install a team's site as an app
Put a team's site on your home screen, dock or Start menu from your browser, under the team's own logo, so it opens on the site's home page.
For everyone · 7 steps
What you need first
- You don't need an account.
- You use a browser that installs apps: Chrome or Edge on a computer or an Android phone, or Safari on an iPhone or iPad. Firefox on a computer can't install apps — open the site in Chrome or Edge instead.
- Nothing to download from an app store: the app comes from your browser and updates itself.
Steps
Step 1: Open the team's site
Open any page of the team's site, and scroll to the bottom of the page.
You should see: Install app in the footer. It doesn't matter which page you are on: the app always opens on the site's home page.
Step 2: Press Install app
Press Install app.
You should see: on a computer or an Android phone, your browser's own box asking to install the site, with the team's name and icon — go on to step 3. On an iPhone or iPad, the install steps with the team's name — skip step 3 and go on to step 4.

Step 3: Confirm in your browser
Press Install in your browser's box.
You're done on a computer or an Android phone — go on to step 7.
You should see: the team's site open in its own window, without the browser's address bar, and its icon on your desktop, dock, Start menu or home screen.
Step 4: On iPhone or iPad, tap Share
Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, in Safari's toolbar or beside the address bar.

Step 5: Tap Add to Home Screen
Scroll down the list that opens and tap Add to Home Screen.
Step 6: Tap Add
Tap Add at the top right. Back on the site, press Done to close the steps.
You should see: the team's icon on your Home Screen, with the team's name under it.

Step 7: Open it from its icon
Open the app from the team's icon.
You should see: the team's home page, in a window of its own. A fresh open always lands on the home page; if you switch back to the app while it is still running, it stays on the page you were reading.
How to know it worked
- The app opens from the team's own icon, on the team's home page.
- Opened from the icon, the site's footer no longer shows Install app.
The app is the team's site and nothing more. The Spawnfront app, with your dashboard and your notices, is a separate install — see Install the Spawnfront app.
Something doesn't look right?
I don't see Install app in the footer
Either the site is already installed on this device (open it from its icon), you're in a private window, or your browser can't install apps — Firefox on a computer can't. Use Chrome or Edge, or Safari on an iPhone or iPad.
Nothing happens when I press Install app
Your browser shows its box once; if you closed it, reload the page and press Install app again. In Chrome and Edge you can also use the install icon at the right of the address bar.
The app shows letters instead of the team's logo
The team's site has no square logo, so the app shows the team's initials on the site's color. If it is your team's site, set Square logo on the site's Appearance page and publish.
The team changed its logo or name but my icon didn't
Chrome and Edge update the icon on their own within a few days. An iPhone or iPad keeps the icon it saved: remove the app from your Home Screen and add it again.
The app says it is offline
The team's site needs a connection. Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data and press Try again.
The app shows a page that doesn't exist
The team's site is no longer online. Nothing is wrong with your device; you can remove the app.
