Change your language

Choose the language Spawnfront shows you, in Display language on your profile, from your account menu or before you log in, find the public pages in your language, and report wording that reads wrong.

For everyone · 3 steps

What you need first

  • You can open Spawnfront in a browser. You do not need to be logged in to choose a language before logging in.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open the language list

When you are logged in, open Profile in the menu on the left. On Account, find the Display language card and press the list under Show Spawnfront in. Or, from any page, open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and point to Language; All language settings at the end of that list opens the same card.

On the log-in and sign-up pages, use the Language list at the bottom of the page.

You should see: every language Spawnfront speaks, each written in its own language, with yours chosen.

Display language is only how Spawnfront shows itself to you. It doesn't tell a team which languages you speak — those are Languages you speak and Native language in your profile's Personal section. See Set up your profile.

  2. Step 2: Choose your language

    Choose a language.

You should see: the page again, in your language — it changes as soon as you choose. When you are logged in, the choice is saved to your account and follows you to every device you log in on. Your browser remembers it too, so the log-in page speaks it next time.

When you made your account, Spawnfront started in the language the sign-up page was shown in. Choose another here any time.

  3. Step 3: Report wording that reads wrong

If a word or a sentence reads wrong in your language, press Report a translation problem beside the list on the Display language card, or under the language list in the account menu.

You should see: the Contact support form, on the topic A translation problem, with the page you were on attached. Tell us what reads wrong and what it should say.

How to know it worked

  • Spawnfront's own pages are in the language you chose.
  • Spawnfront's public pages — the home page, the team and tournament directories, Help and the legal pages — have an address of their own in each language: English at the plain address (spawnfront.com/help), every other language under its code (spawnfront.com/fr/help, spawnfront.com/pt-br/help). Open a plain address after choosing a language and you are taken to your language's.
  • A team's site is in the language its team chose, whatever language you chose. A team's owner or admin sets it under Settings, in Site language; the site shows it from the team's next publish.

Something doesn't look right?

Some words are still in English

A translation may be missing a piece. Press Report a translation problem and tell us where. What a team or a player wrote — a team's About, a news post, a bio — stays in the language they wrote it in.

A public page opened in English, not my language

You opened it before choosing a language, from a link with no language code, or in a browser where you never chose one. Choose your language in the list, or open the page's address with your language's code in front (/fr/…).

I changed my language but teams still see my old one

Display language changes only what Spawnfront shows you. What a team sees when you apply is Languages you speak and Native language in your profile's Personal section — change them there and press Save. See Set up your profile.

I changed my language but a team's site didn't change

That's expected: a team's site has one language, chosen by its team in Site language.
